Northern Territory Government (NTG) (Licensing NT) regularly requests input from City of Palmerston in regard to liquor licence applications for new liquor licences or changes to and/or operation of existing licences under the Liquor Act.

Council is seeking community feedback on its draft Council Policy AD03 Alcohol Management, which provides staff with direction regarding the assessment of applications for the operation of licensed venues seeking a liquor licence within Palmerston, and guidance concerning Council’s management of alcohol provision on Council premises.

Due to the broader coverage of the policy, beyond response to liquor licence applications, the report was renamed AD03 Alcohol Management (previously AD03 Liquor Licence).

This amended policy will also demonstrate how Council will meet the City of Palmerston Community Plan commitment to consider the social implications of all planning and decision making when contributing to Territory planning processes.

City of Palmerston is committed to providing a healthier and safer place for residents and visitors.
